Trees.....

Trees

--------------
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

(This is a poem that my mother in law shared with me this evning...she let me know that it was one that she memorized in school)

I must say..that I like it too. :0)

Really enjoyed all those poems. It seems I must have skipped school when we had to recite poems. I was known to skip alot.lol Rather been riding horses or dipping into a lake than sitting in a classroom. HOpe you and yours have a blessed day.

Tina that is one of my favorite poems & I remember it from school and Sunday school also. Poetry is so beautiful isn't it? One night in 1998 we were in Georgia & I hated it there so much. I could think of nothing but getting my yankee butt back up north. I sat and wrote poems about Tea, I adore tea & all that goes with it and wrote from 3 in the afternoon until 5 am the next morning. All poems, all on Tea. I figure one day I'll put a little Tea book of poetry together.
